German Tool Markings

Marking Name Description
Dreipilz (Three Mushrooms) A quality mark for Forestry tools, Dreipilz has been awarded since 1998 by the Board of Forestry and Forestry Technology (KWF).
GS-Zeichen Geprüfte Sicherheit (GS) (Tested Safety) The GS mark is based on the German Product Safety Act also known as the "Produktsicherheitsgesetz." It indicates that the equipment meets German safety requirements.
KWF Profi KWF-Profi Forestry tools and work aids that have been extensively tested by the Kuratorium für Waldarbeit und Forsttechnik (KWF). The KWF-Profi is the highest KWF certification and imposes many additional requirements than the KWF Standard and KWF Test certifications.
KWF Standard ab 01012010 KWF-Standard The KWF-Standard marking is used to specify products that that gone through a testing process that is not as intensive as the KWF-Profi.
KWF Test KWF-Test The KWF-Test marking indicates that the product has successfully passed a specific/targeted test performed by the KWF. Items that bear this marking have been successfully tested for semi-professional use.
Vde pruefsiegel VDE The VDE mark indicates that the produce has been tested by the Verband der Eletrotechnik institute for safety and quality in tools used in the electrical field.
